Festive message from Dick and Janet!

05 Dec 08

Please find below a festive message from Dick and Janet Collins.

"Another Year has come and gone, and what a year this has been – starting in April and still continuing with 2 small shows in December, but as many of you know, whilst working at the Red Bull Flutag in Hyde Park, Dick received a bump on the back of the head which resulted in him having 2 strokes. The first one caused him to lose quite a lot of vision which we did not realise was a stroke. The next day he had recovered some of the sight but two days later he had a massive stroke which took his right side. He was in hospital for two and a half weeks where he received wonderful treatment. He is making very good progress but, unfortunately, the memory and sight are still affected and he is unable to drive. This makes life difficult and he cannot get to shows on his own.

Among other shows which D.C. Site Services worked at were Rockness, Taste, the Hyde Park Shows including the Mandela Birthday Celebrations, Lovebox, Wakestock, T in the Park, Connect and the shows for Festival Republic including Glastonbury, Latitude, Reading and Leeds. There were numerous other small shows as well.

Friends, family and staff really rallied during the summer and all our commitments were fulfilled.  Dick and I went to Leeds Festival and I worked at Proms in the Park.

We would like to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication during this difficult year for us.

At the moment we do not know what the future holds but we hope that we will be seeing you all in 2009.

Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - Dick & Janet."
