16 Apr 10DCSS will start allocating Glastonbury Festival positions next week - the week beginning Monday 19th April.
If there is a specific group you would like to work with at Glastonbury please login to your DCSS PAAM account and note this within the group section. Please write this on a new line in the group field as:
Glastonbury = Chaperone
Glastonbury = Pedestrian
Glastonbury = Campervans
Glastonbury = Clickers*
*we need some of the 'Clickers' staff to arrive a little earlier. If you would like a few extra days work at Glastonbury and can arrive on Saturday 19th June to start work on Sunday 20th June, please note this in your PAAM profile by writing "Clickers 8 Day" in the group section.
The four options are detailed below. We cannot guarantee you'll get to work with the team you request although we'll do our best!
Chaperone – Role
The Chaperones assist vehicles when required to drive through pedestrian areas – guiding the vehicles and warning the pedestrians.
Pedestrian Zone Marshals – Role
The Pedestrian Zone Marshals monitor the 25-30 roadways giving access to the pedestrian areas of the festival site. All vehicles wishing to travel into the pedestrian areas must have the correct pass (a Z pass). If they do not have the correct pass the Pedestrian Zone Marshals are there to inform the driver they cannot drive into the pedestrian area. Each Pedestrian Zone point will have a radio – anyone who drives into the pedestrian zone without the correct pass must be reported (pass and number plate) so appropriate action can be taken.
Campervan Marshals - Role
The Campervan Marshals manage the campervan and caravan area – the team is subdivided into parking marshals, fire marshals, campervan and caravan marshals. Responsibilities include making sure the vehicles are parked sensibly; do not use too much space; adhere to fire regulations.
Clickers – Role
The Glastonbury license states that we must know how many people are on-site at any one time. The Clickers are based on the vehicle and pedestrian gates – counting people as they enter and exit the site. The Clickers count people within vehicles NOT the vehicles themselves. The pedestrian gates have turnstiles which count the majority, the Clickers count those entering via the wide load lanes – those with excess baggage who cannot fit through the turnstiles.
