2010 Electric Picnic - Ireland

DCSS has been asked to provide a number of extra staff (Fire Towers and Traffic Management) for the 2010 Electric Picnic at very short notice!

DCSS will cover costs for the return ferries from either Holyhead or Pembroke to Ireland.

You'll need to arrive for Thursday 2nd September, working Friday to Monday, returning on Tuesday.

Big Chill Festival - Extra Positions!

A number of new positions have become available at the 2010 Big Chill Festival!

We have just reopened applications within DCSS PAAM.

As you already have a DCSS PAAM account you can login and apply now!

If you have already paid a deposit to work with DCSS in 2010 you don't need to pay another deposit as one deposit covers you for all the festivals you would like to work at each year!

If you haven’t yet paid a deposit this year; following application you will need to pay your deposit. Details of how to pay your deposit are provided within DCSS PAAM.

There are a very limited number of positions available so please do apply and pay your deposit ASAP if you would like to join us!

"Please identify your first language and any other languages you speak (which would allow for you to assist festival goers in that language)."

Following the question you will find a list of languages with options and a further details field.

Please supply the requested information ASAP as it's very important we have this before your arrival onsite.

Please also take this opportunity to make sure your other details within PAAM are up to date.

Big Chill Festival - Shuttle Buses

Big Chill Festival has organised a free crew shuttle bus service to assist staff in getting from the Great Malvern Station to the Big Chill Festival site and back!

On Wednesday 4th August the crew shuttle bus will be meeting trains arriving at Great Malvern Station at 14:00, 16:00 and 20:00.

For the way home on Monday 9th August the crew shuttle bus will be leaving the Big Chill Festival site to meet trains departing the Great Malvern Station at 16:00 and 17:00.

If you wish to take advantage of this free crew bus service you will need to show your info pack on the Wed and your crew band on the Mon.

Public buses will also be running throughout the Monday, please visit the Big Chill Festival website for info:

Did you lose your glasses whilst working at the 2010 Glastonbury Festival?

Or has everything just been a little blurry recently and you're still trying to figure out why?!

We may be able to help!

We had a pair of glasses handed in - as per the photo to the right!

They were dropped in the Clickers/Towers compound.

Many thanks to all who worked at the 2010 Glastonbury Festival! As we all know it was a very long and hot week and a half but we hope you all enjoyed yourselves along the way! We're very much looking forward to seeing you all again next year!

Hi Clicker and Campsite Tower Teams,

We would like to thank you all for your hard work in what we can only assume was the hottest Glastonbury ever! Who would have thought the sun could make life as tricky as the mud often does eh...

Thanks everyone who worked as clickers, you were amazing as always! You did a great job; performing with the usual level of enthusiasm and professionalism we have come to associate with the clickers.

Another big thank you to everyone who worked up the campsite towers. As you know they were a new addition this year - everyone we spoke to sang your praises. The campsite stewarding teams were always telling us how much you helped them with their job and generally offering out lots of complements. Despite the heat at the top of the towers you carried out a stunning job!

We hope your sunburn has faded and you’ll be ready to come back next year to hopefully equally good weather!

See you next year – if not sooner,

To all those who worked with DCSS as part of the caravan and campervan teams,

The sun shone from start to finish and although we had some hard work to do at the beginning the rest of the week moved along at a more sedate pace. Having opened up a new area on the west side of the site gave us some logistical problems that we will have to work on for next year! The DCSS team did extremely well and we look forward to working with you all again in the not too distant future.

Latitude Festival - Green Crew Info

With Latitude Festival fast approaching Festival Republic has sent over the 2010 Latitude Festival Green Crew Info Sheet. This info sheet looks at what those working at the festival can do to help minimise their environmental impact. The biggest impacts are WASTE and TRANSPORT, and the impact of the PURCHASING you do in relation to your onsite activity.

Glastonbury - DCSS Shuttle Bus

Due to the high frequency of trains which come into Castle Cary Train Station there won't be a set schedule for the DCSS shuttle bus. Instead, the bus will be heading to the station as often as possible between 10:00 and 21:00.

The minibus will be running for arrivals on:

Sat 19th June (8 day clickers)
Mon 21st June (Campervans)
Tue 22nd June (Towers, Chaperones, Pedestrian Zone)

The minibus will be running for departures on:

Mon 28th June

Glastonbury - Extra Positions Filled!

All extra Glastonbury Positions have now been filled!

Many thanks to all those who applied and paid a deposit so quickly - 60 positions filled in less than 6 hours is a new record for us!

We're looking forward to seeing you all there!

Glastonbury - Extra Positions!

We need an extra 60 staff for Glastonbury Festival!

As we've only just received confirmation of this from Glastonbury and we're now not far away - we'll be reopening the application at midday today and emailing all with a DCSS PAAM account.

If you'd like to work with us at Glastonbury please keep an eye on the festival within DCSS PAAM - the checkbox allowing you to apply will become available at midday! You'll then need to pay your deposit ASAP - this can be done online, via BACS, or cheque. All info is provided via DCSS PAAM.

If you have already paid a deposit (for other festivals) you don't need to pay another.
